2. How We Use Your Data

Email Address

Your email address is used for:

User ID

A unique user identifier (UUID) is assigned to your account by Supabase. It is used for:

Your user ID is linked to your identity. It is not shared with third parties for advertising or tracking.

Device ID (FCM Token)

When you grant notification permission, the app obtains a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token. This token is used solely to deliver push notifications to your device, such as:

The device token is linked to your user identity (stored alongside your user ID in our database so we can route notifications to the correct device). It is not used for tracking purposes or advertising. If you deny notification permission, no FCM token is collected.

App Interactions

We use PostHog (self-hosted via the j.performancelens.app proxy) to collect app usage data, including app launches, screen views, and feature interactions. We use Sentry to attach navigation breadcrumbs to crash reports. This data helps us:

App-interaction data is linked to your user identity via PostHog's identify feature. It is not used for advertising, sold to data brokers, or shared with third parties for advertising or tracking purposes.

Crash Logs

We use Sentry to collect crash reports when the app encounters an error. Crash data includes stack traces, device model, OS version, and app version. This data is used solely to diagnose and fix bugs.

Crash data is tagged with your user identity to help us debug user-specific issues. It is not used for tracking, advertising, or any non-engineering purpose.

Diagnostics / Performance Data

Sentry also collects performance metrics such as app launch time, screen load times, and network request durations. This data helps us monitor and improve app responsiveness.

Performance data is used in aggregate; we do not target individual users with it.

3. Third-Party Services (Data Processors)

The Android app integrates the following third-party services, which act as data processors on our behalf:

4. No Tracking, No Advertising

The PerformanceLens Android app does not track you for advertising purposes. Specifically:

5. Data Security

All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher. 6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

You can permanently delete your PerformanceLens account and all associated data at any time. The procedure is described in detail on our Account Deletion page, which is also linked from the app's Google Play store listing. Deletion is processed immediately; backup snapshots that may still contain your data are purged automatically within the standard retention window of our database provider (typically up to 30 days).

Push notification tokens are removed when you sign out, delete your account, or uninstall the app.
